Microsoft Excel 2010 – Subtotal Function

Sometimes, when you have a spreadsheet, you are just looking for a simple summation, or a count. Sure, you can use a Pivot Table. Another way you can do it is by using the Subtotal function

NOTE: Before you use the Subtotal tool, you will want to order your data, ascending or descending.

The Subtotal function can be found on the Data tab in the Outline group.  When you click on the Subtotal tab, you will be presented with the following options:
